Digestive Health Testing
-
The Gastrointestinal Microbial Assay Plus (GI-MAP) uses quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) technology to analyze the gut microbiome from a single stool sample. It detects and measures the DNA of bacteria, parasites, fungi, viruses, and other microorganisms, including pathogens, opportunistic microbes, and beneficial bacteria, while assessing key markers related to digestion, nutrient absorption, intestinal health, inflammation, and immune function.
-
The GI-MAP is designed for individuals experiencing digestive concerns, chronic or unexplained symptoms, or those seeking a root-cause approach to their health. This test may be especially beneficial for individuals experiencing:
Bloating, gas, constipation, or diarrhea
Digestive complaints, including IBS, IBD, Ulcerative colitis, Celiac disease and Crohn’s disease
Food sensitivities and intolerances
Fatigue and brain fog
Anxiety, depression, and mood-related concerns (Yes, your gut health affects your mental health!)
Weight management challenges and metabolic concerns, including diabetes
Hormonal imbalances
Skin conditions, such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis
Autoimmune conditions and immune-related concerns
Chronic or unexplained health symptoms
-
Once you ship your test kit to the lab, results typically take 10–14 business days to be received. Once your results are available, your practitioner will review and interpret your labs, and you’ll be contacted within 3 business days to schedule your follow-up session. Overall, you can expect the process to take approximately 3 weeks from sample shipment to follow-up.
-
This advanced, non-invasive stool test is conveniently completed from home. A collection kit is shipped directly to your address, where you’ll collect your sample and return it to the laboratory for analysis.
Once your sample is collected, simply place the completed kit in the provided packaging and use the prepaid FedEx label to arrange a pickup directly from your home.
-
The GI-MAP can be used as a preventative tool to monitor gut health and identify early signs of dysfunction before symptoms become more significant.
For general wellness and proactive health maintenance, it is recommended to complete the test once per year. Individuals with ongoing health concerns, active treatment protocols, or chronic symptoms may benefit from testing twice per year to monitor progress and guide personalized interventions.
-
GI-MAP testing is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Recommendations based on test results may include dietary, supplement, or gut-support strategies that may not be appropriate during these stages.

Functional Blood Testing
-
Routine lab work is typically designed to assess baseline health markers and identify concerns after they have already developed.
Functional lab testing takes a more proactive, preventative approach, evaluating a broader range of biomarkers to help detect early signs of imbalance before they progress into more significant issues.
-
Conventional lab ranges are designed to identify disease — if your results fall within the "normal" range, you're typically told everything looks fine. Functional optimal ranges are narrower and based on clinical research tied to long-term health outcomes. This means your results may flag areas for improvement that a standard lab test would miss, giving you a chance to act earlier.
-
Following a thorough review of your health history and presenting symptoms, your laboratory panel is carefully selected to assess the markers most relevant to your specific case.
-
After purchasing your lab test, you’ll receive an email with clear instructions and a scheduling link.
Fullscript partners with Quest Diagnostics, giving you access to over 2,000 locations nationwide, making it simple to schedule and complete your blood draw.
-
All clients participating in services will receive a Fullscript account. Laboratory panel recommendations will be created and made available for purchase directly through the account, which also provides centralized access to laboratory results, convenient reordering of eligible lab panels, and the ability to track laboratory marker trends over time.
